Why Choose SoilSense? Expert Insights from an Agronomist

SoilSense has recently established a distribution agreement in Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia with Etmond Shkembi, an experienced agronomist.

We had the opportunity to discuss SoilSense with him and gain deeper insights into how this system can assist farmers in their daily activities.
Etmond, with over three decades of experience and a dedicated commitment to advancing the agricultural sector, shared how SoilSense is transforming irrigation management for farmers. Thanks to his expertise, he immediately recognized the innovative value of SoilSense.
What are the main challenges farmers face in soil management?
One of the most common issues is the delay in identifying plant stress signals.

Traditionally, we observe the color intensity of leaves to detect problems, but this method can take days or even weeks to reveal issues like moisture or nutrient deficiencies. These delays often compromise crop yields and waste resources.
How does SoilSense help solve these problems?
SoilSense is the simplest and most precise tool for monitoring key data such as soil moisture, temperature, and nutrient levels. For an agronomist or an experienced farmer, it is like always having insight into the mind of plants and trees.

Thanks to its advanced technology, data is updated 72 times a day and can be viewed directly from a smartphone or computer. This allows farmers to act immediately, preventing damage and improving efficiency.
What practical benefits does SoilSense offer?
SoilSense drastically reduces resource waste: water, fertilizers, and time.

Moreover, its versatility is incredible: the sensors adapt to various crops, such as vegetables, vineyards, or olive groves, with monitoring at variable depths (10-60 cm). Every farmer knows the root growth of their crops well and can decide independently, based on the characteristics of their soil, where to place the sensors.

Another advantage that makes the SoilSense system truly unique is that the device is solar-powered and does not require wires or complex maintenance.
How can SoilSense make a difference in less technologically advanced agricultural areas?
SoilSense is a technologically advanced tool at a low cost, making it accessible even to small farms.

This small device performs the work of a technician and a computer, eliminating stress for the farmer. It is an innovation that has already received excellent feedback from its first users.

Key Benefits of SoilSense

  • Real-Time Monitoring: Updates 72 times a day, accessible on smartphones or computers.
  • Resource Conservation: Reduces water, fertilizer, and economic waste.
  • Adaptability: Suitable for different crops, with sensors adjustable based on root depth (10-60 cm).
  • Ease of Use: Solar-powered and free from complex wiring or maintenance.
  • Affordability: Advanced technology at a reasonable cost, ideal for small and medium-sized farms.
